This piece was inspired by a photograph I captured one June evening. I never expect just how much storms like this will impact me, and I'm always amazed how different each storm is.
I stood transfixed this evening, looking over my roof and the old oak tree in my front yard. As the sun slowly set, the lighting and contrast constantly changed. At the same time, incredibly loud, deep explosive rumbles of thunder rattle the windows and made my hair stand on end.
The drama and power of experiences like these are what fuel my passion. In this moment, nothing was more certain, nothing more real, than the existence of that storm. Life simplified.
