Those who aren't amazed by a sunset don't understand what's really happening.
A past employer was situated on top of a rural hill. For just under 10 years I worked primarily in solitude with an unobstructed view of the horizon in all directions. This piece was inspired by a photograph I captured during this time.
I remember watching the sun gently sink gently past the horizon this night, giving way to extraordinary shades of blue and orange. The storms were quickly decaying, and the sky was expected to completely clear within the next few hours leaving a mild and quiet summer night.
The scene felt so heroic to me. It was as if the clouds were refusing to give in to the death of the light. With purpose, they continued forward in the face of a quickly approaching certain fate.
Every sky has a story.
