To this day, watching these storms evokes emotions that have remained with me since childhood.
I've never been able to shake the primal terror that lurks in the background of my awareness when these storms approach. At the same time, I am overwhelmed by the seemingly impossible beauty in variation of color, shading and shape of these storms. This is the balance I wanted to express in this painting.
This storm feels like a being from another world, living, breathing, slinking across the plains. I'm disturbed and fascinated at how something so familiar can appear and feel so alien.
